UPDATE ON ECONOMIC ACTIVITY — Officials from six area cities provided an update to some 40 local Realtors® on development activities underway or planned in their communities. The Rancho Southeast Association of Realtors® event was sponsored by Optimum Seismic, Inc.

Vernon, Calif. — A group of some 40 members of the Rancho Southeast Association of Realtors® (RSAOR) listened intently to a panel discussion by area City Managers and Economic Development staff of current commercial, industrial and housing development projects in local communities on Sept. 18.

Among the city official participating in the forum on local economic activity were: Bellflower Economic Development Director Jim Dellalonga; Bell Gardens City Manager Michael O’Kelly; Cerritos City Manager Art Gallucci; Long Beach Economic Development Director John Keisler and Housing and Neighborhood Services Bureau Manager Patrick Ure; Lynwood Planning Associate Alfredo Perez; and South Gate City Manager Michael Flad.

The event was sponsored by Optimum Seismic, Inc. (www.optimiumseismic.com), which is one of California’s leading earthquake retrofit engineering and construction companies. Optimum Seismic partners with many industry associations to educate businesses and building owners about the need for greater building resiliency in California communities. A brief presentation touched on the economic benefits of retrofitting buildings to increase earthquake resilience, and the importance of retrofitting older buildings to protect businesses and investments, as well as residents and employees. The seminar was held at the RSAOR office, 10900 E. 183rd Street, Suite 120, Cerritos.

“It’s very important for Realtors®, Brokers and Property Managers to know about development activity currently underway and planned for our local communities that may affect their sales activities and strategies in the future,” says Jim Clarke, government relations consultant for RSAOR, as he underscored the value of this educational seminar. “We greatly appreciate all of the city officials who took the time to participate in this informative presentation.”
