Assistant Structural Engineer
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Produce calculations, structural design and detailing of different types of structures including wood, steel, and reinforced concrete structures
- Perform site evaluations and inspections
- Work closely with construction team to address design changes due to field conditions
- Work with sales team to address special design requests from clients
- Coordinate project design efforts with drafters and other in-house and outsourced engineers
- Coordinate and complete plan-check and permit processes with City, Building Departments
- Maintain and improve design quality assurance processes
- Good understanding of building behavior and strong knowledge of seismic design are required.
- Log in and update accurate project information in company’s operational software as trained and give accurate updates on assigned projects as needed

Job Qualifications
- A degree from accredited school in USA in civil or structural engineering.
- Seismic design experience in California and strong familiarity with wood and steel buildings preferred.
- P.E. is not required.
- Experience working with Autocad, Revit, Enercalc, Risa, Sap, Safe, Etab.

Develops and maintains relationships with new and existing clients and provides them with products and services that ensure client satisfaction.
General Accountabilities
- Prepare engineering and construction proposals.
- Nurture and close new engineering and construction contracts to meet the monthly sales target.
- Record and manage sales records in CRM software.
- Schedule and attend client consultations as needed.
- Greet and screen clients and telephone callers in a professional manner.
- Generate project status reports in excel and CRM software.
- Respond to customer inquiries in timely manner.
- Keep clients updated on progress of their projects and maintain a good ongoing relationship with them.
- Help organize and attend educational seminars presented by Optimum Seismic, Inc and network with potential clients.
- Work with engineering and drafting team to schedule site visits with clients and their agents.
- Monitor and update project information and company’s CRM software.

Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field with 5+ years of successful sales and customer service experience.

The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day support of human resources activities. Duties include assisting with the recruiting process; handling the on-boarding process, new hire orientations, ensuring completion of personnel paperwork, overseeing time sheet processing, handling payroll processing, filing and other clerical duties. The Human Resources Specialist position will assist with administration of leaves of absence and workers’ compensation and support the Manager in planning HR related activities such as company events.
General Accountabilities
- Manage the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the HR function.
- Oversee daily time sheet compliance and processing.
- Perform weekly payroll processing.
- Maintains employee-related databases and assists with preparing and analyzing reports for management, as necessary or requested (OT/Labor Report, Turnover, etc.)
- Assist in reviewing resumes and applications received.
- Handle the on-boarding process, including verification of job description, posting of open positions, prescreening candidates, coordinating interviews, preparation of offer letters and post offer documents, scheduling of first day of work.
- Oversee benefits enrollments for healthcare and 401K including eligibility tracking, enrollment meetings, and qualifying events.
- Partner/advise management on the resolution of employee relations, corrective action and performance issues.
- Assist with workers comp claims (injury report, clinic, interactive process, etc.)
- Ability to be flexible and willing to take on a variety of assignments.

Job Summary:
Seeking a highly motivated, versatile and innovative Human Resources professional with a passion for all Human Resources functions in the construction industry. The Human Resources Director will be an essential part of management team and play key role in company’s long-term expansion plan. The position will be responsible for organizing and directing all aspects of HR functions including talent acquisition, onboarding and offboarding, training and development, employee relations, daily involvement with pending Workers’ Compensation cases, ensuring that employees are following company handbook & safety procedures, implement and update current labor laws.
General Accountabilities
- Serves as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering employee contracts and helping resolve work-related problems.
- Support management by providing advice and council as it pertains to Human Resources.
- As a strategic partner to management, advises and guides in the interpretation and application of HR policies, programs, processes, and regulatory compliance.
- Analyzes statistical data and reports to identify and determine causes of problems and to develop recommendations for improvement of HR policies and practices.
- Daily involvement with pending Workers’ Compensation cases
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local laws.
- Maintains records concerning personnel-related data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates.
