Job Summary:

Seeking a highly motivated, versatile and innovative Human Resources professional with a passion for all Human Resources functions in the construction industry. The Human Resources Director will be an essential part of management team and play key role in company’s long-term expansion plan. The position will be responsible for organizing and directing all aspects of HR functions including talent acquisition, onboarding and offboarding, training and development, employee relations, daily involvement with pending Workers’ Compensation cases, ensuring that employees are following company handbook & safety procedures, implement and update current labor laws.

General Accountabilities

  • Serves as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering employee contracts and helping resolve work-related problems.
  • Support management by providing advice and council as it pertains to Human Resources.
  • As a strategic partner to management, advises and guides in the interpretation and application of HR policies, programs, processes, and regulatory compliance.
  • Analyzes statistical data and reports to identify and determine causes of problems and to develop recommendations for improvement of HR policies and practices.
  • Daily involvement with pending Workers’ Compensation cases
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local laws.
  • Maintains records concerning personnel-related data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates.
  • Advises managers on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment, and recommends needed changes.
  • Administers compensation, benefits and performance management systems, and safety and recreation programs.
  • Directs the dissemination, interpretation and application of company policies.
  • Conducts exit interviews to identify reasons for employee termination.
  • Plans and conducts new employee orientations to foster positive attitude toward organizational objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Produce calculations, structural design and detailing of different types of structures including wood, steel, and reinforced concrete structures
  • Perform site evaluations and inspections
  • Work closely with construction team to provide construction administration support
  • Coordinate project design efforts with drafters and other in-house and outsourced engineers
  • Coordinate and complete plan-check and permit processes with City, Building Departments
  • Maintain and improve design quality assurance processes
  • Good understanding of building behavior and strong knowledge of seismic design are required.
  • Log in and update accurate project information in company’s operational software as trained and give accurate updates on assigned projects as needed
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed

Education and Experience:

  • A degree from a credited school in USA in civil or structural engineering
  • At least 3 years of experience with design-build projects and construction field experience is required
  • Seismic design experience in California
  • Strong familiarity with wood, steel and RC building
  • P.E. license is a plus
  • Experience working with Autocad, Revit, Enercalc, Risa, Sap, Safe, Etab

Compensation:

  • Competitive compensation package will be offered for the right candidate.

Salary: $65,000.00 to $85,000.00 /year

Work Environment:
This position will be based in office in Vernon CA for 80 % of the time. Remaining 20% will be spent at building inspections and at construction sites during active construction. This position also requires very strong work ethic with determination and focus to achieve challenging goals, and willingness to work a flexible schedule.

  • Construction Workers with at least 1 year experience
  • Superintendents with at least 3 years experience
  • Looking for candidates to fill these positions: Carpentry, Concrete, Rebar, Stucco, Steel Fabrication, Welding, Drafters, & More

We are willing to train those who demonstrate aptitude for seismic retrofitting

Supervises, motivates, and coordinates the activities of customer service representatives.
General Accountability:​

  • Supervises the work of customer service representatives to ensure adherence to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures

  • Monitors customer service phone calls and emails for quality assurance purposes.
  • Designs, implements, or evaluates staff training and development programs, customer service initiatives, or performance measurement criteria.
