Los Angeles, California — A free seminar on soft story apartment earthquake retrofits will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, from noon to 2 p.m. The event will be held at the headquarters of the Apartment Association of Greater Los Angeles (AAGLA, www.aagla.org), and sponsored by Optimum Seismic Inc. (www.optimumseismic.com).

During the workshop, apartment building owners, property managers, realtors, and other attendees will learn the basic principles of retrofit engineering and construction, the economics of retrofit projects, liability for earthquake deaths and injuries, and how to minimize construction impacts on tenants and parking spaces.
