Earthquake-resistant building design and construction information was provided by Optimum Seismic, Inc. at the California Building Officials’ Education Week training program in Ontario, October 14th through 17th.

CALBO’s purpose is to promote building construction which protects public health and safety by supporting legislation, education, and building code development. The organization has more than 500 members. More than 90 of its members serve on various policy committees. CALBO, which has been holding annual business meetings for 57 years, conducts more than 115 training courses.
Topics addressed during CALBO education sessions include a review of significant changes in California codes related to building, electrical, energy, mechanical, plumbing and residential work. In addition, sessions also address topics such as housing accessibility, safety assessments, plan review for residential additions; and fire sprinkler systems.
