A massive 4.7 earthquake hit off Oregon’s Coast

This Wednesday morning a 4.7 earthquake hit off Oregon’s coast. It happened 235 miles west of Coos Bay. The earthquake had a depth of 6 miles long. No reports of tsunami of damaged issued.

Last week a Los Angeles City Council committee was briefed on seismic upgrades and to no surprise, only 14% of the soft-story wooden structure are now compliant but none of the concrete buildings have been retrofitted. Under the ordinance, most seismic retrofits occur within seven years.
