California’s Governor Gavin Newsom’s first budget includes $16.3 million to finish building California’s part of the project. The project is in partnership with USGS, it uses hundreds of seismic sensing stations placed throughout California, Oregon and Washington. Why it works is because they are getting data in real time from the sensor stations.
